Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience designing and developing highly available, high-scale, secure, mission-critical cloud-native distributed systems.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java or Python.
- Have solid knowledge of AWS ecosystems, including Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, and Kafka.
- Bring hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, microservices patterns, and resilient systems.
- Have practical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor for software delivery, debugging, code synthesis, or prototyping.
- Have experience building and maintaining high-volume public-facing APIs with a focus on developer experience.
- Have experience with high-throughput data processing and storage solutions, such as SQL/NoSQL, Redis, Kafka, or Spark.
- Be familiar with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD paradigms.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence technical decisions through communication and technical credibility.
- Desired: experience building internal platforms for developer teams.
- Desired: experience building or integrating AI agents into developer platforms or automated operations workflows.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the architecture and technical roadmap for the Phone Numbers Platform, including transition of legacy systems to distributed microservices.
- Use AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate code generation, testing, and prototyping.
- Make architectural decisions that balance feature delivery with reliability and security.
- Partner with Product Managers to translate telecommunications regulations and customer needs into APIs and application workflows.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support their use of AI-generated logic.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, including scalability bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Lead the team through production incidents and pursue long-term remediation.
- Document technical designs and system trade-offs in design documents and RFCs.
