Requirements
- Have 4+ years of experience as a Security Administrator, Network Administrator, or in an equivalent technical capacity.
- Bring practical knowledge of network and security operations.
- Have working knowledge of security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Have strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and network and security applications.
- Have hands-on experience with Linux and Windows command-line environments.
- Be able to troubleshoot applications and technical issues across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Use a detail-oriented, structured approach to diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
- Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferred; relevant experience or an associate degree or equivalent combined with relevant experience may substitute.
- Familiarity with Unix operating systems is a plus.
- Experience with Perl, Python, Ansible, Bash, or other scripting, programming, or automation tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection technologies such as Suricata is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Triage and troubleshoot network security device monitoring issues, resolve them where possible, and escalate complex issues.
- Own lower-tier technical issues through resolution and provide timely support.
- Troubleshoot and replicate customer issues involving network monitoring services, cloud applications, cybersecurity products, and customer environments.
- Coordinate technical troubleshooting, device maintenance, and outages between third-party vendors and customers.
- Configure, track inventory for, and ship hardware sensors used for network monitoring.
- Coordinate action-item handoffs with SOC analysts and other teams, including off-hours and product-related work.
- Participate in on-call support and respond to critical incidents when required.
- Assist technical teams with issue replication, fix and workaround testing, and quality assurance for new or enhanced products.
