Requirements
- Have 4–7 years of professional software development experience, including responsibilities consistent with a senior engineering role.
- Bring professional experience with Go or a comparable backend programming language.
- Have strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or an equivalent relational database.
- Have experience with payment platforms, financial transactions, fintech products, or similarly critical financial systems.
- Have practical experience with event buses and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Have hands-on experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Be familiar with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understand distributed systems and the design of reliable, scalable backend services and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor teammates, lead technical projects, or drive engineering improvements.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services for data processing, transformations, business logic, and financial workflows.
- Design and implement reliable, idempotent event-driven and queue-based workflows using technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Develop maintainable services using Go or a comparable backend language and SQL with PostgreSQL or an equivalent database.
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices.
- Establish and maintain metrics, monitoring, alerts, and reliability practices for system health.
- Investigate and resolve production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with Product and Operations to translate business needs into features.
- Pair with teammates, share technical knowledge, contribute to code reviews, and improve engineering practices.
- Own technical initiatives that improve payment operations and reduce complexity.
