- 12 years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry; minimum of 5 years applicable industry experience working and/or providing engineering services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, Munis, etc.; minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering and/or construction teams on medium to large electrical utility scale clients for high voltage and/or extra high voltage substation type projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field within the Power & Energy Market.
- 12 years of relevant post-education project management experience in the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
- At least 5 years of applicable industry experience working with or providing engineering services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, or municipal utilities.
- At least 5 years leading engineering and/or construction teams on medium-to-large electrical utility-scale high-voltage or EHV substation projects.
- Experience with contract management, external and internal team meeting management, earned value management, change management, and risk management.
- Experience managing schedules, including CPM project schedules such as Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Experience with financial management and project delivery processes in the Power Delivery/Utility industry.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and SharePoint, as well as spreadsheets and project management tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and business acumen.
- Ability to lead teams, work independently, and maintain strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Occasional travel is required; travel frequency depends on client and project-specific requirements.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, execution, monitoring, and closeout of high-voltage and EHV substation projects.
- Oversee project design, budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, risks, contractual obligations, and delivery performance.
- Develop stakeholder engagement strategies, maintain client relationships, and report project progress.
- Guide pursuit and initiation activities, including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation, and pricing reviews.
- Lead or participate in contract negotiations and client presentations.
- Direct technical reviews and ensure adherence to project QA/QC plans.
- Manage assigned staff and coordinate project resources and subcontracting requirements.
- Maintain client communications and provide regular updates on status, safety incidents, issues, scope, risk, and budget.
- Review problem projects, contribute to root-cause analysis, and assist with project recovery plans.
- Complete project closeout activities and document lessons learned.
