Requirements
- Have at least a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Have 3–7 years of payment-industry experience, focused on underwriting, transaction monitoring, customer support, or fraud/risk management.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office or Google tools, especially Excel or Sheets.
- Be familiar with merchant-processing platforms and applications.
- Know card-brand rules and regulations, including Visa and Mastercard.
- Have awareness of PCI compliance.
- Be able to read and understand credit-card processing statements.
- Bring analytical, attention-to-detail, and research capabilities.
- Be able to research complex merchant-related issues, make decisions, and relay findings.
- Be comfortable contacting customers by email or phone to review merchant application details.
- SQL, Tableau, or Sigma experience is a plus.
- Be comfortable working autonomously in a digitally connected environment.
Responsibilities
- Review merchant applications during onboarding for compliance with internal policies, processor guidelines, card-brand rules, and federal regulations.
- Analyze merchant applications for Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
- Review flagged transactions and alerts, and recommend action based on payment-processing standards.
- Recommend enhancements to fraud-detection and risk-management systems and tools.
- Review merchant transaction history to assess risk and recommend payment-processing limits.
- Manage inquiries and requests from customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Onboarding, Customer Support, and external partners on payment-processing matters.
