Requirements
- Compliance experience in the first or second line of a UK-regulated firm.
- Experience in a bank, e-money institution, or payments firm is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of relevant rules, including Consumer Duty, BCOBS, CASS, FISMA, the Payment Services Regulations, and the Money Laundering Regulations.
- Experience turning regulation into practical requirements for product, sales, or operations teams.
- Ability to interpret and apply FCA rules to new situations.
- A curious, questioning approach and the ability to identify appropriate questions before sign-off.
- Confidence to challenge clearly and constructively.
- Strong writing skills, with attention to clarity and readability.
- Deep expertise in a specialist area such as payments, cards, Consumer Duty, BCOBS, or financial promotions is preferred.
- Experience in finance or banking is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Translate regulation into product requirements, customer journeys, terms and conditions, and fair value assessments from initial idea through approval and launch.
- Maintain compliance across live products through fair value assessments, outcome monitoring, reviews, changes, and closures.
- Help the commercial team assess whether potential partners fit the firm's risk appetite and review sales materials.
- Review Griffin's marketing materials and customers' marketing materials for regulatory and policy compliance.
- Ensure financial promotions are compliant and appropriately challenged.
- Build regulatory requirements into operational procedures and controls.
- Assess regulatory changes and coordinate timely action by the relevant teams.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, and report on compliance risks and customer outcomes.
- Engage the second-line team early, share evidence, and respond to its challenge.
