Requirements
- Have 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bring a track record of cross-organizational technical leadership at consumer scale.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrate deep mastery in one or more technical domains while remaining hands-on.
- Show cross-organizational impact that has influenced how multiple teams build, operate, or think.
- Apply strong technical judgment to challenge designs, identify failure modes, and make principled trade-offs.
- Have experience building durable systems and patterns that others can build on.
- Have delivered complex, ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives despite unclear requirements or misaligned stakeholders.
- Bring experience with high-traffic, high-reliability consumer systems where correctness, performance, and user trust matter.
- Use a collaborative, low-ego approach to resolving cross-organizational conflicts and sharing credit.
Responsibilities
- Create capabilities that drive cross-organizational technical impact and company-level outcomes.
- Establish technical direction across organizational boundaries through strategy documents, RFCs, and architecture reviews.
- Identify systemic risks and opportunities across domains before they become crises.
- Build patterns and frameworks adopted across engineering teams.
- Guide the health and evolution of multiple systems, balancing short-term needs with long-term architecture.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering culture through collaboration, speaking, and programs or processes.
