Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences or business.
  • At least 5 years of successful business development experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and/or biotech industries.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding annual sales targets.
  • Ability to identify client needs and new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication, networking, presentation, organizational, and financial skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good command of English and applicable additional languages for assigned territories.
  • Ability to build a productive territory and qualitative pipeline.
  • Strong prospecting and nurturing skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use Salesforce CRM.
  • Good knowledge of GxP.
  • Understanding of GDPR/HIPAA and applicable local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to identifying, developing, and implementing the business strategy for business development.
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new and existing clients and opportunities in assigned territories.
  • Drive opportunities through the sales cycle, from lead generation and RFI/RFP activity through bid defense, award, and contract execution.
  • Build relationships with client decision-makers and understand client organizations and needs.
  • Build the sales pipeline and grow the client base, focused on small and emerging biopharma.
  • Coordinate and host client meetings and bid pursuits, and support proposal preparation.
  • Negotiate contracts, close sales, and follow up on lost proposals and bid defenses for feedback.
  • Maintain timely sales administration in Salesforce and report sales activities to management.
  • Coordinate client handoffs to operational departments and collaborate on client needs, capabilities, change orders, and new opportunities.
