Requirements
- Have 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, community relations, or a related field.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred; substance use disorder or mental health experience is strongly preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in human services, healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Have a general understanding of treatment modalities, levels of care, and industry best practices for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with professionals, clients, and community stakeholders.
- Be able to build trusted, long-term professional relationships across organizational levels.
- Be able to work independently, manage a schedule, take initiative, and contribute as part of a team.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and sound judgment in varied situations.
- Be able to read and interpret policies, procedures, safety rules, and other relevant documentation.
- Be comfortable with in-person meetings, public speaking, telephone communication, email, video conferencing, and regular interaction with external partners.
- Be able to meet the role's physical requirements, including extended sitting or standing, repetitive hand movements, and occasional lifting or moving of items.
Responsibilities
- Support behavioral health program initiatives through strategic community outreach and relationship-building.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with executives, medical professionals, and decision-makers at referral organizations.
- Balance ongoing referral-partner engagement with new business development opportunities.
- Manage referral and admissions processes, helping convert inquiries into appropriate admissions.
- Identify and develop referral opportunities within the assigned geographic territory.
- Collaborate on marketing and public relations materials for local community relationships.
- Maintain professional contacts and provide follow-up, data, and feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate meetings with referral partners and prospective clients, including facility tours when appropriate.
- Develop and participate in seminars, educational initiatives, and community campaigns.
