Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in cost estimating and cost management, covering both pre-contract and post-contract phases.
- Extensive knowledge of cost benchmarks for industrial facilities, including manufacturing, testing, R&D, warehouses, and office environments.
- Strong understanding of factors that influence construction costs across different markets and project conditions.
- International experience working on industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction and procurement models, including Design-Bid-Build, Design & Build, open-book/cost-plus arrangements, project partnering, and BTS/lease structures.
- Ability to assess cost plans critically, identify inaccuracies or risks, and provide well-supported recommendations.
- Experience with BIM and construction cost databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience with RIB iTWO, CostX, or comparable cost-estimating and management platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex priorities, and collaborate with project managers, real estate professionals, contractors, and other stakeholders across international environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost management processes and procedures across enterprise project activities.
- Prepare cost estimates from preliminary concepts through detailed design and execution.
- Help project managers and real estate teams establish budgets based on project requirements, procurement strategies, contract types, building codes, and market conditions.
- Identify significant cost risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Review project cost plans, forecasts, and reports for accuracy and alignment with approved budgets and cash-out plans.
- Evaluate cost controls during project execution and recommend ways to strengthen financial performance.
- Apply cost- and time-efficient construction methods to support project delivery.
- Support value engineering and assist project managers with pricing and claims negotiations involving general contractors.
- Review and challenge cost plans to ensure estimates are sufficiently accurate and robust before management approval.
- Advise project teams on cost implications of procurement approaches and contract structures.
