Requirements
- Live in New Hampshire.
- Have 3+ years of reporting experience in journalism, focused on politics, policy, or public affairs.
- Bring state and local reporting experience; this is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to consistently report, write, and file multiple stories per week on deadline.
- Have strong reporting and writing skills, including sourcing, interviewing, research, and fact-checking.
- Be deeply familiar with New Hampshire politics, institutions, and key issues.
- Have on-camera experience with social media videos and an aptitude for creating them.
- Be aligned with COURIER’s mission to provide fact-based, people-centered reporting that strengthens civic participation and democracy.
Responsibilities
- Produce two original, fact-based story packages per week on New Hampshire politics, policy, and civic life.
- Create a source-driven article and a related presenter-led video using the provided template for each package.
- Connect state and local policy decisions to the lives of New Hampshire residents.
- Conduct rigorous research, interviews, and fact-checking.
- Reach out to impacted community members, subject-matter experts, and key political actors.
- Refine story angles and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure reporting meets COURIER’s journalistic standards and style.
