Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading projects or people.
- Strong backend development experience with TypeScript or Python.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or comparable database technologies.
- Hands-on experience building products with modern LLM APIs, including OpenAI or Anthropic.
- Practical experience developing agentic products and applying prompt engineering techniques.
- Experience with retrieval technologies and architectures, including RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
- Experience writing and evaluating Claude Skills.
- Experience creating and integrating MCP servers and converting API endpoints into AI-accessible tools.
- Strong understanding of selecting LLMs for different use cases while balancing quality, cost, and technical considerations.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and ability to estimate scope and timelines and communicate expectations.
- Nice to have: experience with system administration, internal workspaces, or IT infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or SharePoint.
- Nice to have: experience connecting Cowork or ChatGPT Work to internal data sources, integrating Microsoft 365 with AI systems, or building data ingestion pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead AI-powered product engineering from concepts and prototypes through production-ready implementation.
- Architect and develop scalable backend systems using TypeScript or Python.
- Integrate modern LLM APIs into customer-facing applications.
- Design agentic systems, including orchestration, tool use, prompt engineering, and AI workflows.
- Build retrieval capabilities using RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
- Evaluate LLMs and create MCP servers and AI-accessible tools from API endpoints.
- Own features end-to-end and collaborate with teammates on client and customer ideas.
- Improve internal AI tooling, engineering workflows, and delivery practices.
- Estimate project scope and timelines, communicate progress and risks, and participate in hiring and mentoring.
