Requirements

  • Education and/or experience in sales is required.
  • Bring familiarity with automated liquid handling, through professional or academic experience.
  • Be computer literate and thoroughly familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of a CRM system such as Salesforce is preferred.
  • Have an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a Life Science discipline.
  • Knowledge of the lab environment and sales cycle is preferred.
  • Be able to make formal and informal product presentations to individuals and large groups.
  • Be able to interact professionally and ethically within the scientific community.
  • Be able to function in laboratories with multiple safety levels.
  • Be able to independently manage time and workload across an assigned regional territory.
  • Be able to travel regularly within the assigned central US region.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn scientific terminology are needed to sell into the laboratory market.
  • A background in Genomics or Protein Crystallography is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual sales targets for the Apricot branded liquid handling product line across the Central territory.
  • Generate outbound leads and manage the sales pipeline from start to finish.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and provide post-sales support.
  • Develop and follow up on sales opportunities across product lines.
  • Build consultative customer relationships and recommend solutions suited to customers’ businesses and workflows.
  • Position SPT solutions and explain their benefits using available communication materials.
  • Cross-sell the product range and collaborate with product specialists, territory managers, and key account managers.
  • Maintain CRM data and management.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned central US region.
