Requirements
- Have 2+ years of hands-on medical billing experience.
- Have previous experience working with a chiropractic practice.
- Have hands-on experience with ChiroTouch EMR; this is non-negotiable.
- Have strong knowledge of medical billing and claims processes.
- Have experience with insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
- Have experience managing accounts receivable.
- Understand insurance claims follow-up and resolution.
- Have excellent English communication skills.
- Be able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Be available Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.
Responsibilities
- Verify insurance and confirm patient benefits and coverage.
- Handle insurance pre-authorizations as required.
- Prepare and submit medical claims, then follow up on them.
- Monitor claims status and resolve billing issues or rejected and denied claims.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Review accounts for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Follow up with insurance companies about unpaid or pending claims.
- Maintain accurate billing documentation and patient account information in ChiroTouch.
- Provide light administrative support related to billing and patient accounts when needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
