Requirements
- Bring 10+ years of experience.
- Have strong expertise in embroidery and hand embroidery.
- Have experience in product design and development.
- Know fabrics, textiles, embellishments, and surface techniques.
- Understand design concepts, color, proportion, texture, and detailing.
- Be able to take concepts from ideation through sampling and production.
- Bring creative leadership and team management skills.
- Understand quality standards and product execution.
- Advanced knowledge of hand embroidery techniques is a plus.
- Experience with skilled artisans, traditional craftsmanship, or premium and highly detailed products is a plus.
- Exposure to fashion, luxury, apparel, textiles, lifestyle, or related product categories is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and product development function and establish creative direction aligned with brand identity and business objectives.
- Develop collections, product lines, designs, and seasonal concepts from ideation through production.
- Develop embroidery concepts, motifs, patterns, textures, placements, and techniques for products and collections.
- Work with artisans, embroidery teams, craftsmen, and production partners to turn design concepts into finished products.
- Review samples, prototypes, fabrics, trims, embellishments, and embroidery techniques against design and quality expectations.
- Guide the creation of design specifications, product concepts, color stories, material selections, and development samples.
- Research fashion, design, textile, embroidery, and consumer trends for product development opportunities.
- Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, production, and business teams on commercial viability and timelines.
- Set design standards, product development processes, and quality benchmarks, and mentor design and product development teams.
