Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience in partnership support, coalition coordination, project management, policy research, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in and/or passion for Blue Star Families’ mission and work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear, professional materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to independently research, synthesize, and summarize information from multiple sources.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, including managing multiple timelines, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fully remote environment with minimal direction.
  • Close attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel out of town overnight several times per year for staff offsites, planning retreats, and company-wide events.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of national-level partnerships with nonprofit, public-sector, and private-sector organizations.
  • Participate in partner meetings and calls, capture notes, and track action items.
  • Draft briefing documents, agendas, presentations, and other partnership materials.
  • Coordinate White Oak Collaborative communications, meetings, member engagement, onboarding, and events.
  • Support engagement with participating Do Your Part states and track state commitments and activities.
  • Research, monitor, and analyze state policy developments affecting military and veteran families, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
  • Prepare policy briefings, talking points, and background materials for engagement with state stakeholders.
  • Coordinate timelines, stakeholders, materials, and follow-up across Strategic Alliances projects.
  • Maintain partnership records and tracking systems, including Salesforce.
