Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally spanning accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience using Ramp or comparable expense-management tools.
- Ability to meet close deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
- Interest in using AI, automation, and technology to improve accounting workflows.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA qualification is a plus.
- Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition under ASC 606 and SaaS billing processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing and coding, approval verification, payment runs, and vendor relationships.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Prepare customer invoices according to contract terms and resolve billing questions or discrepancies.
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Review and process employee expense reports and administer the corporate card program.
- Support monthly close by preparing journal entries, accruals, schedules, and accounting documentation.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items for Controller review.
- Support annual financial statement audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, internal controls, process documentation, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and apply AI and modern technologies.
