Requirements
- Have professional experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or a related communications discipline; technology-sector experience is preferred.
- Demonstrate exceptional writing and editing abilities.
- Be able to explain complex products, technologies, and ideas clearly and engagingly.
- Have established relationships with technology and business journalists.
- Understand how to develop effective media strategies.
- Have experience managing communications for product launches, major announcements, partnerships, or other high-impact business milestones.
- Use sound judgment to identify important stories, develop compelling narratives, and adapt messaging to different audiences and channels.
- Be comfortable advising founders, executives, and senior leadership on external communications and preparing them for public engagements.
- Be able to work independently, take ownership of projects, and make sound decisions with limited direction.
- Bring attention to detail, organizational skills, and high standards for written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global communications strategy that strengthens brand positioning and communicates the organization’s products, mission, and ambitions.
- Build relationships with technology, business, and mainstream media, and develop opportunities for meaningful coverage.
- Identify media angles, pitch stories, and manage communications activities to increase visibility and credibility.
- Write and edit press releases, product announcements, company updates, executive communications, and other external-facing materials.
- Shape company messaging and product narratives, translating complex AI and technology concepts for different audiences.
- Prepare founders and senior executives for media interviews, conferences, public appearances, and other communications opportunities.
- Develop communication plans for product launches, strategic partnerships, major announcements, and company milestones.
- Monitor media coverage and communications opportunities, using insights to strengthen brand awareness, positioning, and reputation.
- Partner with product, recruiting, and leadership teams to ensure consistent external messaging.
- Support crisis communications and reputation management when required.
