Requirements

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience.
  • Significant experience managing complex portfolios across functions or geographies and/or leading teams.
  • Demonstrated operational leadership and a track record of building systems and ways of working for high-performing teams.
  • Experience with strategic planning, budgets, and resource management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong strategic judgment, systems thinking, synthesis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and connect day-to-day execution to broader strategic priorities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, visual, and executive communication skills, including distilling complex ideas into clear messages.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous questions into rigorous inquiry plans and work with research, interviews, case examples, surveys, and other evidence.
  • Deep alignment with the belief that education should develop young people holistically.
  • Strong programmatic experience in education, leadership development, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team’s operating model, including planning, systems, budgets, resourcing, operating rhythms, and cross-team coordination.
  • Manage team capacity and the Program and Operations Manager, identifying and addressing capacity gaps.
  • Take ownership of cross-cutting priorities, strategic projects, and partnerships to provide leverage to the Chief Learning Officer.
  • Support key meetings and external engagements through opportunity assessment, preparation, and follow-through.
  • Develop presentations and materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Advance the team’s funding strategy with the Global Development team, including proposals, reports, and impact measurement.
  • Partner with the Chief Learning Officer and Global Leadership Directors on priority initiatives, plans, milestones, resources, and impact evaluation.
  • Lead targeted research and synthesis on priority learning questions, drawing on evidence and practice.
  • Connect learning across initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen portfolio coherence and impact.
  • Develop knowledge products and expand the reach of learning through the Better Future Hub and external channels.
