Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Demonstrate the ability to execute in ambiguous environments.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills for conversations with technical audiences and customers.
- Proven experience shaping and improving routing and navigation products is an ideal qualification.
- A passion for mentoring and helping junior engineers grow is an ideal qualification.
- A track record of thriving in 0→1 teams and scaling them through the post–startup phase is an ideal qualification.
- Experience as a tech lead or in a similar technical role directly impacting other engineers’ output is an ideal qualification.
- Be willing to engage directly with customers when needed.
Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end features, from frontend to backend, for a diverse customer base.
- Use AI with strong judgment to prototype solutions or accelerate refactors that reduce incident risk.
- Partner with the engineering manager and staff engineers to advocate for technical excellence on the team.
- Work with the product manager and designer to build interfaces and APIs that make planners’ work more efficient.
- Mentor junior engineers and help build a strong technical bench.
