Requirements
- At least 6 years of direct experience supporting a hybrid or remote workforce of at least 50 employees as an engineer.
- Strong history of managing mission-critical Azure Virtual Desktops and application-specific servers.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including conditional access, provisioning, identity governance, and general administration.
- Experience managing a distributed fleet of endpoints and mobile devices using Intune, NinjaOne, WorkspaceOne, or comparable tools.
- Proven track record of utilizing PowerShell to administer Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- A zero-trust security mindset demonstrated through IT service and solution engineering.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to explain complex technical issues in plain language.
- Able to work fully remotely and travel to offices in California as described in the posting.
- Able to perform physical duties that may include lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing indoor ladders, crawling under furniture, and reaching behind wall-mounted equipment.
- Bonus experience includes supporting CAD and GIS applications, Microsoft certifications, and familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, CCPA, SOC 2, ITSM, or ITIL.
Responsibilities
- Own the Azure environment, including Azure Virtual Desktop and virtual servers, and manage image management, patching, scaling, backups, performance, and software versioning.
- Monitor virtual machine performance and capacity, implement alerts, and perform root-cause analysis of virtual infrastructure concerns.
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and data governance.
- Administer Entra ID and SSO, and maintain identity lifecycle automations and SCIM provisioning across SaaS applications.
- Manage Windows and limited Mac endpoints, mobile device configurations, and application policies.
- Automate IT processes using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other platforms.
- Partner with the Director to build and administer security operations capabilities and participate in incident response.
- Serve as a final escalation point for complex IT support requests and participate in an on-call rotation for critical outages.
- Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and system configuration documentation, and follow change management practices.
