Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of experience in a clinical healthcare environment or a closely related role.
- Have working knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy standards, and common medical terminology.
- Have experience communicating with doctors’ offices, hospitals, labs, and clinics by phone and email.
- Have experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
- Be proficient with Mac OS, Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom, and ticketing systems such as Zendesk, and able to work across multiple systems simultaneously.
- Have experience handling high-volume outbound patient calls, including result delivery and post-visit follow-up, while meeting SLAs or productivity targets.
- Demonstrate strong organization and attention to detail when handling PHI and clinical documentation.
- Have strong written communication skills and the ability to document clearly and accurately.
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: experience with an EMR, including Elation, or Zendesk or similar ticketing systems.
- Preferred: experience with results delivery, clinical workflows, and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound patient result calls and post-visit appointment reviews within defined SLAs.
- Communicate lab results, follow-up instructions, and next steps accurately and in a timely manner.
- Validate labs, confirm documentation, and prepare visits for in-home care delivery.
- Upload and manage clinical documents accurately and promptly.
- Monitor lab results and imaging reports through Quest and other clinical applications, escalating concerns or documentation gaps as needed.
- Coordinate updates and follow-ups among patients, providers, and internal clinical and administrative teams.
- Maintain and update the provider directory, including fax numbers when applicable.
- Partner with health system and health plan counterparts to obtain appointment information, share updates, and identify workflow improvements.
- Manage medical records and maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
