Requirements
- Have 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in a multi-client, consulting, or similar environment.
- Have 2+ years of experience leading a team, including providing direction, coaching, and quality oversight.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Have proven experience supporting e-commerce clients and familiarity with online business accounting.
- Have advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel.
- Have experience reconciling e-commerce platforms and payment systems such as Shopify, PayPal, and Bill.com, or similar tools.
- Have a strong understanding of GAAP, accounting best practices, financial statements, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
- Be able to prioritize, manage time independently, and work proactively in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end close and accounting activities for an assigned client pod.
- Review management reports, financial packages, balance sheet reconciliations, key metrics, and balance sheet and P&L trends.
- Review inventory reconciliations, write-offs, obsolescence adjustments, product costs, and inventory system accuracy.
- Review accounts receivable processing and aging reports, accounts payable processing and aging reports, and bill payments.
- Review payroll processing, journal entries, and accruals.
- Manage client communications, provide requested reports and financial details, and serve as an escalation point and thought partner.
- Supervise, support, and train Accounting Managers and bookkeepers.
- Help develop SOPs and training materials, and maintain organized files and documentation.
- Manage the budget for the assigned pod and contribute to process improvements and the broader internal team.
