Requirements
- Have 2–5 years of experience across talent acquisition and HR.
- Have been the first or second people hire at an organization, or built people operations at a fast-scaling startup.
- Have hands-on recruiting experience and have personally closed senior hires.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in assessing candidates and hiring decisions.
- Be able to create processes where none exist and simplify processes that are no longer useful.
- Communicate directly and be willing to challenge founders when appropriate.
- Know Indian labour law and payroll basics well enough to support compliance.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and a Monday–Saturday pace.
- Nice to have: experience at a recruiting, HR-tech, or staffing company.
- Nice to have: familiarity with Airtable, Slack, Notion, or an HRMS, and a habit of automating repetitive work.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the founders to plan hiring and set role priorities and hiring standards.
- Source, pitch, close, and negotiate senior and hard-to-fill hires using the Weekday platform.
- Set up scorecards, interview loops, work trials, and candidate experience processes.
- Design and run performance reviews, goal-setting, and feedback cycles.
- Build policies, compensation bands, leave processes, payroll, and labour-law compliance.
- Own onboarding, engagement, and retention, and assess attrition data.
- Handle employee conflicts, underperformance, and exits.
