Requirements
- Provide a portfolio or case study showing senior-level design work on developer tools, AI/LLM products, coding agents, or other technical, data-heavy SaaS platforms.
- Have a track record of owning research end-to-end and using it to influence product direction.
- Be comfortable with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Be willing to stay hands-on with the codebase rather than only handing off specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability to make and defend decisions under ambiguity without relying on a fixed process.
- Have experience designing for technical, engineering-savvy users.
- Be able to discuss APIs, architecture, and system constraints with engineers.
- Communicate effectively asynchronously and write short, clear documents.
- Include a portfolio highlighting design expertise and work on SaaS platforms, data visualization tools, or similar data-heavy applications.
- Nice to have: experience designing CLI or terminal-based interfaces.
- Nice to have: familiarity with desktop app design.
- Nice to have: experience presenting design and research findings to executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own problems across the Kimchi CLI, desktop app, inference and spend console, or developer tooling from research through shipped design and measured outcome.
- Plan, run, and synthesize user research, then use findings to guide product direction.
- Prototype in code using AI-assisted workflows to test ideas in the product.
- Contribute a point of view to product strategy based on product usage, research evidence, and competitor awareness.
- Participate in cross-squad design reviews to identify overlap and raise design quality.
- Track design debt in your area and advocate for prioritization when risk factors or user feedback make it urgent.
