Requirements

  • Have at least 3.5 years of hands-on Revenue Cycle Management experience.
  • Have direct, hands-on experience billing mental and behavioral health services.
  • Be fluent in behavioral health claims, EAP billing and reauthorization, session-based benefit and clinical package tracking, prior authorizations, and mental health payer rules.
  • Have a strong command of the medical claims lifecycle, payer rules, and A/R management best practices.
  • Have experience independently owning projects from initiation through execution.
  • Have experience using data and reporting to drive operational decisions and performance improvements.
  • Have advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Have startup or high-growth company experience.
  • Hold an undergraduate college degree.
  • Be interested in growing into people leadership; prior management experience is not required.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and loosely scoped problems, attentive to detail, and able to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders outside your reporting line.
  • Demonstrate at least Level 1 AI proficiency, using AI daily to boost personal productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Own pre-submission, submission, and post-submission revenue cycle workflows, including billing, claim scrubbing, denials, underpayments, reconciliation, and A/R follow-up.
  • Resolve billing matters and moderately complex, loosely scoped problems from inception through execution.
  • Establish processes, SOPs, and SLA standards to improve revenue cycle efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Analyze denial trends and payer behavior, identify root causes, and partner across teams on durable fixes.
  • Report on RCM performance, including collection rate, A/R days, denial and write-off rates, and yield.
  • Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to reduce manual work and accelerate cash collections.
  • Work with Accounting and FP&A on month-end close, and partner with Data, Intelligence, and Product on roadmaps and billing tools.
  • Build self-serve dashboards and support billing system migrations and implementations, including requirements, configuration, testing, and cutover.
  • Work with Customer Success and Partner Success on pricing, billing, payments, and new payment structures; represent the company in client, payer, and health plan calls.
  • Support audits and compliance, mentor and train team members, and ensure billing workflows adhere to HIPAA and applicable standards.
