Requirements
- Hold a degree in the life sciences.
- Ideally have 3 years or more of medical or scientific writing experience within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
- Have experience developing scientific content across varied therapeutic areas.
- Be able to manage scientific content types, including publications, and review content for accuracy and flow.
- Have experience with project ownership and problem-solving.
- Be able to work proactively in a collaborative team environment.
- Have strong client communication skills and be able to serve as a reliable contact for clients and external experts.
- Be able to provide leadership and mentoring to junior writers.
- Have experience managing client relationships and serving as a key point of contact.
- Be familiar with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
- PharmD or PhD is advantageous.
- Oncology expertise is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Act as a lead writer and client contact for assigned accounts.
- Develop content with the assigned project team and ensure quality editorial implementation of client programs.
- Communicate proactively with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to complete projects on time and budget.
- Brief, review, guide, and direct less experienced writers in the account team.
- Provide scientific oversight for assigned large or complex projects or workstreams.
- Drive project delivery and champion internal and external processes, including compliance.
- Support business development by investigating, conceptualising, and strategizing medical communications projects and publications.
- Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training meetings, and business development initiatives.
