Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Have 3+ years of engineering management experience.
- Have experience collaborating with functional stakeholders and establishing roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Have experience with organizational design, team development, hiring, and performance management.
- Have experience deploying applications and services to Kubernetes and using Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Helm, ArgoCD, and Istio.
- Have experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Have production public cloud experience; Azure is preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency with SQL, Postgres, Java, and TypeScript.
- Understand data structures, algorithms, and their application to data-intensive applications processing high-velocity or high-volume data.
- Have experience with SQL data analysis using Snowflake or BigQuery and some familiarity with data pipelines.
- Have experience with message-based, asynchronous processing.
- Have production experience with JavaScript and SPA technology such as React.
- Shopify platform experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams responsible for third-party integrations and core catalog and pricing platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Scope and organize projects, delegate tasks, manage dependencies, and communicate timelines, tradeoffs, and risks to stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance.
- Provide technical direction and support for data platform projects and initiatives.
- Develop practices for professional development, performance management, and hiring.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions.
- Implement system and data monitors to ensure business-process correctness.
- Support development practices, including idiomatic syntax, design patterns, and testing and quality practices.
- Oversee operational support and engineering for distributed software applications.
