Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven technical leadership across multiple teams or complex technical domains.
- Strong experience with backend services, APIs, integrations, data flows, and cloud-based architectures.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of system design, software architecture, scalability, reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and production operations.
- Ability to influence technical direction and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and driving ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives to completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams, systems, and business domains.
- Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software systems.
- Lead cross-functional technical initiatives from discovery and design through delivery and production operation.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Customer Experience, and business stakeholders.
- Design and guide implementation of backend services, APIs, integrations, platform capabilities, and distributed systems.
- Identify improvements to reliability, scalability, performance, observability, maintainability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity.
- Influence technical strategy, roadmap planning, architecture standards, and prioritization across teams.
- Promote engineering practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, security, and operational excellence.
- Mentor Staff Engineers, senior engineers, and technical leads.
- Participate in production support, incident reviews, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
