Requirements
- Strong software development skills in Python or Node.js.
- Experience building high-availability search and data platforms.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and operating data systems and pipelines at scale.
- Deep experience designing and evolving Elasticsearch-based search platforms and knowledge graph systems.
- Experience designing external-facing platforms, including API versioning, pagination, integration patterns, and deprecation strategies.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Experience with containerization and infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Terraform.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, and CI/CD platforms such as CircleCI.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data engineering, search architecture, and scalable platform design.
- Experience creating technical design documents and influencing architecture decisions across teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Own platform features from problem definition and schema modeling through implementation, rollout, maintenance, and deprecation planning.
- Evolve search and knowledge graph platforms by reducing redundancy, optimizing payloads, and improving usability.
- Translate business and product needs into technical specifications, development tasks, and maintainable solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows.
- Define integration patterns for internal and external data exchange and customer-facing data delivery.
- Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience as data volumes and product complexity increase.
- Troubleshoot complex system and data issues and strengthen observability, testing, reliability, and data quality practices.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Author technical design documentation, make architecture decisions, and align stakeholders on delivery decisions.
- Mentor engineers and use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
