Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building reliable and distributed software systems.
- Strong practical experience with Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Foundational understanding of computer systems, networking, databases, and distributed systems in real-world conditions.
- Experience designing high-quality RESTful APIs and identifying weaknesses in API design.
- Ability to lead projects independently from definition through implementation and deployment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance architecture, business priorities, and available information.
- Experience working in startup or fast-moving environments where priorities can evolve.
- Nice-to-have experience in securities clearing and settlement or securities finance.
- Additional beneficial experience with gRPC, Protobuf, Temporal, Grafana, Kafka or Redpanda, Helm, and Docker.
Responsibilities
- Own software projects from ideation through deployment, translating broad goals into practical systems and solutions.
- Design and build reliable distributed systems for clearing, settlement, securities finance, and financial products.
- Develop infrastructure and integrations that enable new products, revenue opportunities, and capabilities.
- Improve existing systems' reliability, maintainability, performance, and operational effectiveness.
- Guide the long-term evolution and scalability of systems while addressing immediate requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and colleagues across teams to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and maintain the reliability and operational health of critical systems.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, taking ownership regardless of where the underlying code originated.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and evaluate existing interfaces.
- Improve operational processes and eliminate recurring friction for engineering teams.
