Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a multi-entity environment.
- Hands-on ownership of the month-end close.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with close management software and a modern ERP.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- CPA or progress toward CPA licensure preferred.
- Exposure to ASC 606 and ASC 842 preferred.
- Experience in a PE-backed, acquisitive, or high-growth environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
Responsibilities
- Execute the accelerated month-end close for assigned Partner Firms, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting workpapers.
- Own each assigned firm's trial balance and provide variance commentary with every close.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly in FloQast and resolve reconciling exceptions.
- Prepare audit PBCs and maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers and documentation.
- Support accounting integration of newly acquired Partner Firms, including new entity setups and go-live.
- Train new firm staff on Ascend accounting processes and communicate integration status to the broader team.
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned Partner Firms and guide offshore accounting team members' work.
- Identify close-process friction and document and share process improvements.
