Requirements
- Experience in People Operations, People Services, HR Operations, or another operational People role; generalists are welcome.
- High standards for accuracy and confidentiality.
- Experience running payroll cycles end to end, ideally across multiple countries, in-house or through an employer of record.
- Familiarity with UK payroll fundamentals, including PAYE, RTI, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory payments, or ability to learn them quickly.
- Comfort with technology and active experimentation with AI tools and capabilities.
- Ability to build automations using no-code or low-code tools, integrations, and AI workflows.
- Systems and workflow thinking, with an instinct for simplification and comfort using data to diagnose problems and make decisions.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and balance efficiency with empathy.
- Strong ownership and willingness to work across People disciplines as organisational needs change.
- Desirable: breadth across reward and benchmarking, pensions, benefits, performance, or engagement.
- Desirable: familiarity with UK and EU employment law and experience administering equity or share options.
- Desirable: experience with employers of record, contractor setup, off-payroll arrangements, or IR35.
- Desirable: experience in a fast-scaling startup or scale-up, particularly through headcount growth or entry into new countries.
Responsibilities
- Run monthly payroll end to end for UK and employer-of-record employees, including changes, corrections, off-cycle and ex-gratia payments, contractor payroll and invoicing, and country-specific items.
- Deliver People operations across onboarding, employee changes, contracts and documentation, leave, mobility, EOR and contractor setup, and offboarding.
- Own employee and manager queries through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate employee data, documentation, and systems.
- Build and maintain automations and lightweight AI-enabled tools, workflows, and agents connecting the People systems.
- Evolve the People technology ecosystem by evaluating tools, consolidating systems, and simplifying the architecture.
- Improve recurring processes, tools, guidance, and self-service, and measure whether changes worked.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Talent, Performance Partners, and functional specialists on scalable People services.
- Build dashboards and lightweight analysis to support business decisions.
