Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of UX, product design, or interaction design experience in a high-growth, technology-enabled environment.
- Show a record of taking design work from an unclear problem through launch and iteration.
- Have experience designing and shipping a consumer health, wellness, or fitness app used by a substantial active user base.
- Provide a portfolio demonstrating strong interaction and visual design craft and shipped mobile experiences.
- Have experience learning directly from users and combining qualitative findings with product data.
- Understand iOS and Android interaction patterns and accessibility for people with different abilities, health literacy, and comfort with technology.
- Be proficient in Figma, including component-based design, interactive prototyping, and design systems.
- Communicate design behavior and intent clearly to engineers and partner closely with Product and Engineering.
- Understand AI uncertainty, disclosure, review and correction, permissions, human handoff, and failure cases.
- Use AI-enabled design, research, and productivity tools thoughtfully, recognizing when direct human research and review are needed.
- Be able to simplify complex journeys, explain design rationale, facilitate tradeoff discussions, and incorporate clinical, technical, and business feedback.
- Preferred: experience shipping AI-powered features, designing in care delivery or regulated environments, or working with wearable data and clinical workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own priority member journeys from discovery and workflow mapping through prototypes, production-ready designs, implementation review, and post-launch iteration.
- Partner with the Product Manager and mobile engineering lead to define problems, explore alternatives, and make informed tradeoffs.
- Create polished interaction and visual designs with clear information hierarchy and platform-appropriate mobile patterns.
- Run interviews, concept tests, and usability sessions with members and, where relevant, care-team members; combine findings with product data.
- Use AI in research, synthesis, prototyping, and validation workflows while preserving research integrity, privacy, and design quality.
- Build realistic Figma prototypes that explore representative AI outputs and failure cases.
- Define and document reusable components, patterns, and guidance with Engineering.
- Evaluate onboarding success, task completion, comprehension, satisfaction, and repeat engagement with Product and Engineering.
- Work with Clinical Operations, Quality, and Compliance on clear review, consent, escalation, and recovery flows.
- Participate in planning, backlog refinement, and delivery rituals, keeping design work aligned with product priorities.
