Requirements
- Have proven experience operating as a Tier 3 or escalation engineer handling complex, high-impact production issues.
- Have deep expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, including VLANs, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Have expertise in BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Have experience with data center fabric design, including Clos and ECMP.
- Have hands-on experience with major networking vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Arista, and/or open networking platforms.
- Have experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code, including Python and tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Understand network performance tuning, including buffer management, queueing, QoS, and congestion control.
- Have experience with network observability tools, including SNMP, streaming telemetry, NetFlow/sFlow, syslog, or packet capture and analysis.
- Be familiar with high-performance networking concepts; RDMA/RoCEv2 is preferred, and InfiniBand and DPU/SmartNIC architectures are nice to have.
- Have experience with cloud and hybrid networking, including VPC design, peering, and public cloud connectivity.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents and perform deep troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Partner with Network Operations teams to resolve escalated issues, improve runbooks, and reduce recurring incidents.
- Lead resolution of critical network incidents affecting AI/ML workloads, data center operations, and customer environments.
- Develop operational procedures, playbooks, and escalation paths across Tier 1/2/3 support.
- Mentor junior engineers and improve operational knowledge, observability, and tooling.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and design standards for compliance and audits.
- Optimize network performance for distributed training workloads, including large flows, incast, and burst traffic.
- Support RDMA/RoCEv2 or InfiniBand environments, including PFC, ECN, and lossless fabric tuning.
- Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and remediation.
