Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production IP networks.
- Demonstrate strong networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, firewalling, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, QoS, and diagnosis across Layers 2–7.
- Have production experience with network authentication, including RADIUS, AAA workflows, 802.1X, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication.
- Have hands-on experience with multi-vendor routers, switches, gateways, and access points, including MikroTik, Meraki, Nomadix, Ruckus, and Aruba.
- Have experience managing large network-device fleets across multi-site deployments, including configuration management, monitoring, firmware management, and device lifecycle processes.
- Have programming or scripting experience applied to network operations, including Python, Bash, RouterOS scripting, or vendor REST APIs.
- Have strong Linux knowledge and be comfortable in CLI-driven environments.
- Be willing to develop skills in version control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud services.
- Large-scale Wi-Fi/WLAN deployment experience in hospitality, multi-family, campus, or other high-density environments is strongly preferred.
- A related bachelor's degree and relevant networking certifications, such as MikroTik MTCNA/MTCRE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CWNA, or equivalent vendor certifications, are preferred.
- Software engineering experience beyond scripting, and experience with RESTful API design, Git, CI/CD, AWS Serverless, CloudFormation, containerized services, Python, C#/.NET, or SQL are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Configure, operate, manage, and troubleshoot multi-vendor fleets of gateways, routers, switches, and access points.
- Design, operate, and troubleshoot network authentication workflows involving RADIUS, AAA, 802.1X, EAP methods, certificates, captive portals, and MAC-based authentication.
- Develop automation using Python, Bash, RouterOS, and vendor APIs for provisioning, configuration management, authentication, and device lifecycle management.
- Build diagnostic tooling and lead root-cause analysis using packet captures, device logs, and platform telemetry.
- Translate network behavior and vendor capabilities into requirements for software services and review technical designs.
- Design, implement, and maintain services that interact with or control network infrastructure.
- Contribute to RESTful APIs and security-hardened containerized services running on Linux and AWS.
- Collaborate with software engineering, product management, UX, and other technical teams to develop scalable capabilities and applications.
- Document network standards, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures, and mentor teammates.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and work within an Agile environment using two-week sprints.
