Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Three years of progressively responsible related financial experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, subject to the JHU equivalency formula.
- Additional related experience may substitute for education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula.
- Use spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical packages to assemble, manipulate, and format data.
- Maintain a working knowledge of laws and regulations that affect compliance.
Responsibilities
- Interpret financial data to evaluate past performance and make projections for management.
- Explain accounts, methods, and records to management.
- Conduct studies of costs and financial results and recommend cost-improvement measures.
- Review costs and perform cost-benefit analyses for projects and programs.
- Produce financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
- Provide findings and recommendations to management and assist with special studies and analyses.
- Recommend budget adjustments and measures to resolve funding shortfalls.
- Review and assist with analysis of capital expenditure proposals, profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
- Oversee simple to moderately complex budget accounts and apply working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Use spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical packages to assemble, manipulate, and format data.
