Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible related financial experience.
- Additional education or related experience may substitute under the JHU equivalency formula.
- Experience or capability to perform budgeting, financial planning, and financial analysis duties described in the posting.
- Ability to use spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to prepare data and reports.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data and performance to prepare projections and support management decisions.
- Coordinate and consolidate financial information for annual operating and capital budgets and the five-year plan.
- Conduct cost and financial analyses and recommend ways to improve operational and financial effectiveness.
- Prepare budget proposals, make budget adjustments, and implement cost improvement measures.
- Create and maintain financial systems, controls, reports, and process improvements.
- Review financial plans, capital expenditure proposals, operating records, and financial statements.
- Oversee budget accounts and expenditures, and advise stakeholders on funding shortfalls.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and university financial accounting requirements.
- Manage portfolio cost objects, purchase orders, payment requests, vendor issues, and financial reporting.
- Train personnel handling financial responsibilities and provide coverage for teammates and managers.
