Requirements
- Have 5+ years of technical writing experience for software products with a technical buyer.
- Have at least 2 years of experience documenting APIs, integrations, or infrastructure-adjacent products.
- Be fluent in docs-as-code, including Git, Markdown, and a static documentation framework such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, Mintlify, or equivalent.
- Read code and API specifications well enough to document them accurately and identify discrepancies between implementation and specification.
- Provide a portfolio demonstrating the ability to explain complex systems clearly and precisely to practitioners under time pressure.
- Be comfortable interviewing engineers and product managers and persist in gathering complete information.
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgment.
- Have experience owning a documentation set end to end, including information architecture and maintenance.
- Cybersecurity or security operations experience is preferred; familiarity with SIEM, EDR, identity, and cloud security data sources is a plus.
- Experience documenting AI or ML products, early-stage companies, documentation analytics, or structured authoring is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer documentation platform, including information architecture, authoring workflow, review process, publishing, and search.
- Write and maintain integration guides for supported data sources and alert sources using a repeatable template.
- Write administration and governance documentation covering tenant management, access control, API keys, audit trails, and response action authorization.
- Own API reference and developer-facing documentation, working with engineering to generate documentation from source where possible.
- Write release notes covering changes, their purpose, beneficiaries, and known limitations.
- Explain how AI-completed work functions, including investigation structure, evidence, uncertainty, and system limitations.
- Partner with customer success and support to identify documentation gaps that generate tickets and address them.
- Establish a style guide and docs-as-code workflow that engineers and product managers can contribute to.
