Requirements
- Have proven experience building and operating production systems at scale; Go, Ruby on Rails, or comparable technologies are cited.
- Have strong experience designing event-driven or audit-log systems, including immutable records, event sourcing, or append-only data models.
- Have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and complex containerized applications; AWS experience is preferred.
- Have strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including performance and replication considerations.
- Have experience with distributed systems, observability, infrastructure reliability, and scalability challenges.
- Have hands-on experience building or operating deployment and release-orchestration platforms that move changes from merge to production and model deployment state.
- Be familiar with CD and deployment platforms such as Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, Spinnaker, or Flux.
- Have experience with workflow orchestration engines such as Temporal or comparable systems.
- Understand progressive delivery practices, including canary deployments and analysis, blue/green releases, staged rollouts, feature flags, health-based promotion, and automated rollback.
- Have experience designing unified self-service deployment workflows across teams or business units with guardrails and governance.
- Have experience with DORA metrics, release governance, compliance, or audit requirements in large-scale or regulated engineering environments.
- Have experience integrating source control and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of the releases platform, including its canonical release model.
- Lead technical decisions concerning security, reliability, scalability, immutable evidence trails, policy gates, and release governance.
- Build integrations with CI, source control, and deployment systems, including pipeline ingestion.
- Design systems for canary analysis, blue/green deployments, staged rollouts, health-based promotion, and automated rollback.
- Build, scale, and improve tools and systems for large-scale engineering teams and software delivery workflows.
- Investigate and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability challenges across infrastructure, backend services, and data stores.
- Work with customers and stakeholders to translate release and governance challenges into technical solutions.
- Improve developer experience through tooling, automation, self-service workflows, and engineering processes.
- Share technical knowledge through documentation, mentoring, pairing, and engineering best practices.
