Requirements
- Strong backend engineering skills in Go or an equivalent language.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Staff-level architecture ownership and cross-team technical leadership.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
- Financial services, fintech, or brokerage exposure.
- Knowledge of trading lifecycles, settlements, and regulatory awareness.
- Excellent communication in English.
- Comfort working with regional and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Architect and ship scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems, including gRPC microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and vendor integrations.
- Advance the core platform for multi-region, multi-currency, and global regulatory contexts.
- Own API quality, performance, and operational readiness for regional workloads.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and engineering standards.
- Partner with recruiting on regional hiring and interviews.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and engineering culture across Alpaca.
- Act as a senior escalation for incidents affecting regional stacks and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Participate in on-call as appropriate for the team's coverage model.
- Work with Product, Compliance, and local stakeholders on Singapore and regional requirements.
- Collaborate across time zones with US and other regional engineering teams.
