Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 1 year of people management or technical team management experience.
- Production software development experience with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- Experience working with and leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Strong ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and design organizations.
- Strong understanding of availability, observability, security, reliability, and operational excellence fundamentals.
- Experience integrating with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of software security, static or dynamic analysis, and software supply-chain security is preferred.
- Experience building developer tools such as compilers, parsers, linters, static analyzers, debuggers, or IDE extensions is highly valuable.
- Experience with AI/machine learning for source-code understanding is an asset.
- Knowledge of logic programming or database query languages like SQL, Prolog, Datalog, or KQL is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive a technical roadmap aligned with product objectives, strategically prioritizing engineering investments and adopting relevant technologies and methodologies.
- Lead and develop a distributed engineering organization operating across multiple countries and time zones.
- Facilitate communication across engineering, product, design, and other teams while identifying dependencies and resolving coordination challenges.
- Develop engineers and engineering managers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, clear expectations, and continuous feedback.
- Guide teams in designing scalable, secure, reliable, and observable systems that meet business and technical requirements.
- Drive engineering excellence through automation, tooling, and standardized approaches to deployment, testing, and operations.
- Establish and improve reliability practices, incident response processes, service-level objectives, and post-incident reviews.
