Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of decision science experience with a strong software engineering focus.
- Have a track record of building production-quality data processing solutions or tooling that delivered business value.
- Be proficient in foundational machine learning concepts, including statistical, traditional, and deep-learning approaches.
- Be proficient in Python; experience with array-based packages such as xarray and NumPy is preferred.
- Have deep experience with measured scientific data.
- Have experience visualizing scientific data for domain experts.
- Have experience in MLOps and building robust ML systems.
- Be able to work with limited, disparate, and noisy data sources and learn complex geology and mineral exploration practices.
- Be able to take ownership of large projects and independently prioritize multiple tasks.
- Be willing to work directly with geologists in the field and travel to project sites; employees are expected to travel at least one week per year.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain decision science libraries for mineral exploration analyses.
- Build tooling that enables rapid prototyping in Jupyter notebooks.
- Build experimentation, evaluation, and simulation frameworks.
- Turn successful R&D into robust, scalable pipelines.
- Organize ML models and their outputs for repeatability and discoverability.
- Apply and coach team members on engineering best practices, including writing robust, testable, and composable code.
- Collaborate with data scientists, geoscientists, and engineers to develop decision science technology for mineral exploration.
- Travel to exploration sites to observe the impact of scientific computing and design new technologies.
