Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of practical experience handling customs and international trade matters.
- Demonstrated experience with country-of-origin support, product classification, and Free Trade Agreement qualification.
- Working knowledge of import/export operations and customs brokerage processes.
- Practical knowledge of customs compliance best practices and government requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Ability to manage complex assignments independently with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a high-accountability environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to travel occasionally (less than 5%).
- Current customs broker license or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation is desirable.
- Lean or continuous improvement experience is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support customs compliance activities related to import and export operations.
- Develop and manage Country of Origin validation programs and Free Trade Agreement documentation.
- Coordinate periodic country-of-origin audits and identify compliance issues for remediation.
- Monitor changes to tariff and duty programs (HTS, ECCN, CVD/ADD) and assess business impacts.
- Review and analyze customs entries, identifying discrepancies and coordinating corrections with brokers.
- Develop, track, and communicate KPIs and performance metrics regarding trade compliance.
- Identify, develop, and deliver trade compliance training to relevant business teams.
