Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency or willingness to work with Laravel, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Salesforce, and WordPress.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage full lifecycle development from definition to launch.
  • Capability to own and resolve on-call incidents, particularly during peak donation seasons.
  • Experience working with non-technical stakeholders on evolving or poorly defined tasks.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Availability to work with at least 3 hours of overlap with East Africa Time and US Eastern Time.
  • Willingness to travel internationally a few weeks per year.
  • Alignment with organizational values and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain fundraising software systems including websites and data integrations.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues, including ownership of incidents during peak donation days.
  • Collaborate directly with non-technical fundraising teams to define and implement solutions.
  • Maintain legacy technology stacks including Salesforce, WordPress, and custom data processing workflows.
  • Operate with high autonomy in task identification, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders regarding progress and technical challenges.
