Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with CPA certification considered a plus.
  • Bring 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience within banking, fintech, SOFIPO, IFPE, or another regulated financial institution.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Mexican NIF, along with practical understanding of IFRS and CNBV regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Have proven experience leading financial close processes, audits, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar systems.
  • Bring experience supporting M&A, post-merger integration, accounting integration, or broader finance transformation projects as a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different teams.
  • Be hands-on and comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a customer-centric mindset and understand how high-quality financial information enables better business decisions.
  • Be results and data driven, using insights to improve processes, strengthen controls, and continuously raise performance standards.
  • Show strong accountability, professional judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements while maintaining high standards of accounting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican NIF and support IFRS and CNBV regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including the preparation of supporting documentation and responses to audit requests.
  • Lead the accounting integration of a newly acquired SOFIPO, ensuring processes, systems, policies, and reporting are effectively aligned.
  • Standardize accounting policies, procedures, and chart of accounts across the Group to promote consistency and stronger financial governance.
  • Strengthen internal controls, identify process gaps, and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Operations, Product, and other cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives requiring accounting expertise.
  • Serve as the accounting subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members and contributing to the continuous development of the Finance function.
