Requirements
- 8+ years in backend or infrastructure engineering.
- Substantial recent work on metadata, data quality, governance, or developer platforms.
- Experience building a control plane or policy engine applied across an organization.
- Deep proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Fluent in infrastructure as code.
- Proven experience designing behavior for failed CI checks and downstream impacts.
- Experience driving platform adoption and influencing engineering teams without direct authority.
- Experience with multi-year platform planning and architectural decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead implementation of the data governance platform.
- Build the data asset registry, control plane, and data catalog as the primary source of truth.
- Develop contract models and CI modules to automate compliance, quality checks, and breaking changes.
- Implement an emission framework for lineage, freshness, and completeness tracking.
- Design and deploy data quality frameworks with automated rule enforcement.
- Build compliance automation for retention, residency, and access controls.
- Manage and improve impact analysis capabilities over the lineage graph.
