Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Culinary Science, Chemistry, or a related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
- 10+ years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in food science and product development within a CPG or food/beverage setting.
- Hands-on experience with formulation and sensory evaluation.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Experience working with global teams.
- Familiarity with FDA and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time to manufacturing facilities.
- Occasional flexibility in working hours for sensory sessions or bench trials.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute new product strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Manage and mentor a team of food scientists and culinary experts.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development process from ideation to commercialization.
- Build and lead a sensory sampling and evaluation process to guide formulation.
- Vet, qualify, and approve new ingredients and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain accurate product specifications and formulas.
- Manage offsite test kitchen facility and equipment maintenance.
- Provide hands-on guidance during manufacturing scale-up at facilities.
- Analyze industry trends and conduct competitor research to identify growth opportunities.
- Implement project management best practices to manage timelines, budgets, and milestones.
