Job Details

Analytical judgment under time pressure to scope vague problems and identify critical assumptions.
Proven ability to manage work delivered by contractors, consultants, or external teams.
Comfort with quantitative reasoning, including building simple models and back-of-the-envelope calculations.
Clear written communication skills for non-specialist, time-constrained decision-makers.
Comfort working with deep uncertainty and making decisions based on available evidence.
Sound judgment regarding information sensitivity and discretion.
Pragmatism, flexibility, and a commitment to truthseeking research ethics.
Professional proficiency in English.
Willingness to travel for 4-6 international events per year (retreats, conferences, industry events).
Openness to focusing on farmed and wild terrestrial invertebrates.

Conduct decision-oriented analysis and intervention evaluations to guide funders and organizations.
Perform shallow intervention reviews and produce defensible recommendations within fixed time budgets.
Identify and interview experts to gather information not available in literature.
Analyze production systems and financial disclosures to evaluate commercial viability and sectoral trajectories.
Scope, commission, and manage external contractors and consultants.
Coordinate events for stakeholders and present updates to funders.
Identify and evaluate new strategic opportunities while maintaining discretion with sensitive information.
