Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of hands-on payroll and/or accounts payable experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations and wage-and-hour compliance.
- Solid understanding of A/P processes, GL coding, and accrual accounting fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with a payroll platform and an ERP/accounting system.
- Strong command of Google Sheets and Excel.
- High degree of accuracy and discretion handling confidential financial data.
- Strong attention to detail for managing recurring, non-negotiable deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end payroll processing across all pay cycles, including new hires, terminations, bonuses, and off-cycle runs.
- Calculate, reconcile, and remit payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and 401(k) contributions.
- Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice intake, GL coding, approval routing, and vendor payments.
- Perform three-way matching of invoices to purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor master data, collect W-9s, and prepare/file 1099s.
- Reconcile payroll and A/P subledgers to the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
- Administer employee expense reimbursements and corporate card programs.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and scale payroll and A/P workflows.
